Things to Do

Hiking

Booth Falls Trail
The Booth Falls Trail is among our top picks, offering breathtaking views of the ski resort and the valley below. While parking isn't available at the trailhead, you can conveniently catch the East Vail bus from Vail Village to the Booth Falls stop, just a short distance from the trailhead. Remember to pack water and a snack for your hike!

Berrypicker
This is the well known (and difficult!) trail that winds up the ski resort and ends at the Eagles Nest lodge. You can start in Lionshead at the base of Berrypicker (behind Eagle Bahn Gondola) or in Vail Village at the base of Strawberry Lane (behind Gondola One), which will link up with Berrypicker halfway up. Either way, the trail is about 4 miles to the top, with ~2,100 feet of elevation gain. You can either hike or ride the gondola down.

Golf

There are a few fantastic public golf courses in the area for you to see how much farther your ball goes at altitude (it's about 10%)!  There's also a frisbee golf course at the top of Vail Mountain!

Vail Golf Club

Beaver Creek Golf Club

Eagle Vail Golf Club

Visit The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens

Located just east of Vail Village, it's a 10 minute walk to get there.

River Tubing

The Turtle Bus picks up and drops off at The Vail Transportation Center. We recommend packing snacks and drinks for the guided float tour, and you can also buy drinks on the bus. The views are beautiful, and you might see a bald eagle!

Vail Farmer's Market

Every Sunday 11am-3pm in Vail Village.  There is a farmer's market, food, and crafts.
